Saving Mount Everest

The Latest Project by EcoHimal

The goals of the project „Saving Mount Everest 2011 – 2012“ are to remove ten tons of rubbish from the mountain in the spring of 2011 and – together with the National Park Management - to introduce a sustainable waste disposal concept in the Everest region by the end of 2012.

The government of Nepal, local and international partners such as the Trekking Agents Association of Nepal and UNESCO support the project which not only preserves the natural environment but also creates much-needed jobs for the people living in the Everest region.
